Pulchra Competition

A committee including Italo Lupi, Alessandro Mendini, Sandro Silvi e Matteo Vercelloni has selected our Cucu Clock designed by Pascal Tarabay, for it’s “Pulchra competition – The most beautiful things in the world”.
A game dedicated to beautiful things and to the people who love them, and most of all to the ones who will make them eternal: Pulchra, will make them travel to the future intact. Anybody can participate on-line, at Pulchra’s website. Choose ten objects among the one hundred featured in the competition and you could win 10.000 euro in gold coins. Voting is open form the 30th of january to 31st december 2008. At the end of the competition the ten most voted will be put in a water-proof metallic capsule and buried in a park. Above them, a garden will be planted. Year after year, thanks to the future editions of the competition, a mosaic of gardens will communicate the presence of this invisible museum of beauty: a little and wonderful hidden treasure, waiting for future archeologists.

Who will win the 10.000 euros in golden coins? Whoever guesses the most voted objects in their final ranking order.

Una commissione formata da: Italo Lupi, Alessandro Mendini, Sandro Silvi e Matteo Vercelloni ha selezionato il nostro “CUCU CLOCK” di Pascal Tarabay per il concorso PULCHRA “Le cose più belle del mondo”. Un gioco dedicato alle cose belle, a chi le ama e, soprattutto, a chi vorrebbe renderle eterne perché, con Pulchra, resteranno intatte e viaggeranno nel futuro.
Il concorso è aperto a tutti e si svolge online sul sito Pulchra. Chi partecipa deve solo indicare i dieci oggetti , tra i 100 in gara, che gli piacciono di più e può vincere 10.000 euro. Si vota gratuitamente, anche tutti i giorni, dal 30 gennaio al 31 dicembre 2008, sempre sul sito www.pulchra.org indicando, nella apposita tabella, 10 oggetti in ordine di preferenza. A fine anno i dieci pezzi più votati saranno proclamati vincitori. Verranno riposti in una capsula metallica impermeabile e interrati in un parco; sopra di loro, sarà realizzato un giardino d’autore. Anno dopo anno, con le successive edizioni del concorso, un mosaico di giardini segnalerà la presenza di questo invisibile museo della bellezza: un piccolo e splendente tesoro nascosto, destinato agli archeologi del futuro.

Chi vincerà il premio di 10.000 euro in gettoni d’oro? Chi tra tutti coloro che partecipano al concorso avrà prefigurato meglio di tutti la classifica finale, quella dei dieci oggetti più votati.

Fabrica, Benetton’s research center came up with a fantastic cuckoo, where the bird is perched on the clocks edge. The new concept will be shown during the September edition of the prestigious Maison & Objet. A preview was already exhibited during the Salone del Mobile di Milano in Palazzo Borromeo.

La nuova proposta che sarà presentata nell’edizione di settembre di Maison & Objet, porta la firma di Fabrica (centro ricerche del gruppo Benetton)che per l’azienda ha interpretato il concetto del passare del tempo realizzando un simpatico orologio da muro, dove il cucù è comodamente seduto sul bordo. L’orologio è stato già presentato in anteprima durante il Salone del Mobile di Milano a Palazzo Borromeo.
