PioPio
A collection of book shelves and coffee tables/bed tables born thanks to the expert use of the iron by Antonino Sciortino whose ability in molding, since a long time, creates pieces of furniture as beautiful as sculptures and functional as furniture objects. The Piopio collection is based on the idea of the movement, the movement of the shapes of the single object, but also the movement that is born from the possibility to create unsuspected geometries matching many pieces in creative way.
Una collezione di librerie e tavolini/comodini nata grazie al sapiente uso del ferro, che ormai da anni Antonino Sciortino sa plasmare dando forma a mobili belli come sculture e funzionali come oggetti d’arredo. La collezione Piopio si basa sull’idea del movimento, il movimento delle forme del singolo oggetto, ma anche il movimento che nasce dalla possibilità di creare geometrie insospettabili abbinando più pezzi in maniera creativa.

The name plays with sounds creating an unusual callback between its region of origin, the Sicily, and the Japanese culture. An apparently simple but extremely complex object for the search of the equilibrium, and the harmony of the right proportions between shape and material.
Il nome gioca con i suoni, creando un insolito richiamo tra il suo paese d’origine e la cultura giapponese. Un oggetto apparentemente semplice ma estremamente complesso per la ricerca dell’equilibrio, dell’armonia delle giuste proporzioni tra forma e materiale.
